As the title suggests, It is taking around 20 minutes to load the OS from a shutdown. I am running off of the installed OS not the livedisk.
I have WIN7 loaded on a separate hard disk, and have never had any issues with it thus far. I am NEW to any for of "linux" os, this is my first attempt at the os.
Instead of giving up and running to another distro I have decided to "tough it out" here. I figure it will help more as I learn the issues and correct them.

Any help here would be appreciated folks.

Can you please open Terminal (find it in menu) and do the following:

gzip -c /var/log/dmesg > ~/dmesg.gz

And please upload the dmesg.gz file from your home folder here (see the "Upload attachment" tab at the bottom of the post a reply page). This will allow us to see your boot messages, so we can figure out any errors.

Also, please install Bootchart, so you can upload a graphical representation of your boot process (showing CPU and disk usage and drivers being loaded). Again from Terminal:

sudo apt-get install bootchart pybootchartgui

After the next reboot, you will find a .png file in /var/log/bootchart. Please also upload that here.
