Hi
My new system worked yesterday morning and afternoon well. But in the evening, the boot did not fnish, but was hanging:
· switching on
· selecting Mint LMDE 2011/09, Nvidia graphic card
· the first part, with tha large white letters rolling fast down the black screen appears
· when it used to change into small letters instead of the login screen nothing happens except a oscillating prompt on the top left of the screen.
I did upgrade the NVidia driver during the day, but after the upgrading I rebooted without problems.
Any ideas?
Will not boot anymore

Re: Will not boot anymore
So I assume you are already seeing the GRUB bootmenu. Press 'e' on the item you want to boot, to edit it's boot parameters. Scroll down to the line starting with "linux" and replace "quiet splash" with "nomodeset" (without the quotes). See if this allows you to boot, or at least gets you an error message to post here.
