install error and grub issues

hello, i have been using Linux mint for awhile, and recently i upgraded one of my laptops to 4.0 standard.

during the installation, the installer crashed. grub install error. now i cant boot to a disk, and when the grub starts, i get error 15.

what can i do to fix this, or wipe my hard drive.

if worst comes to worst, ill buy an external hdd case for laptop hard drives and hook it up to my desktop to reformat. is there any other options?

i tried boot disks:
ubuntu
linux mint
XP Pro
Linux insert
DOS disk.

and usb thumb drive linux (Mint portable).

You might want to try "SuperGrub" to repair your mbr install before you wipe the drive and loose whatever is on it. If you are faced with loosing a lot of data, there are other alternatives too.

Run a search for SuperGrub on this forum.
