new problems with 64bit.(solved)
my nephews 64bit,now running mint 12,is really memory heavy.got it installed perfectly and erased everything to do with mate.lightened up the desktop with a few extensions running.the system moniter shows at idle 12%(480mb) and cpu1-12% cpu2-16%.thats on idle why is it so heavy???also the internet is really dragging its crazy.is there a solution to all this mint12 madness?

480mb is about normal for gnome3. Without knowing what your hardware is, hard to tell anything else. I have not had any high cpu usage using mint12. Check your system monitor and see if there is something running that looks abnormal. Let us know if this keeps up.

installed ubuntu 11.10 and its running a lot more stable and 11.12 driveris perfect.the memory had a significant drop.
