So, after staying off of Linux Mint since around V2, I decided to try it out again. The install goes fine, until grub fails to install, the installer dies, and Linux Mint becomes unbootable. Any solutions?
The answer lies in MacBook... It uses EFI instead of BIOS (it's generally the same of course) so you can't use gfxgrub which is used in Mint from Celena (or Cassandra - my memory is short ) Download supergrub (google for it) only about 4 MB and burn it to a CD and use it to install a standard grub. You can read more here viewtopic.php?f=49&t=7522&hilit=macbook+grub Very informative
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
