Primary master /dev/sdax !!!

Postby ShErbO on Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:51 pm

Hello guys,

I just installed Daryna, but there's something *Very* weird. It sees all my harddisk partitions as /dev/sdax.
Which is something I've never seen before ! I mean, the harddrive is a primary master and it's always supposed to be /dev/hdax.

I'm also getting some console boot errors, can't figure out how to copy-paste them. But then the system runs fine. Any clue ?

Best Regards

No
hdx was originally for IDE disks sdx for scssi Today all disks are sdx, but if they for some reason ends up as hdx don't worry (as long as it's consistent).
To copy in the console if you mean gnome-terminal mark and right click
You write boot console and perhaps you mean errors while booting. I must admit I don't know either but I saw a solution for that earlier today - but where :)

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
