Bad CD/Good CD? solved

Is there a thread explaining, how to verify an installation CD after you burn from Windows? I saw that there are programs, but they seem to be command line programs and I have not clue what I am supposed to be looking for to begin with. I keep hearing md5sum...etc, but don't know how to use/do this from windows or what to look for.

I had another thread going on as to why I have only intermittantly successful boots and verifying the disk was suggested.

One of the really bad things about Windows is the lack of tools for verifying downloads and you rarely see a md5sum for a Win download, while it is the norm in Linux - it's also checked in the tools used for installing
Downloading such a large file as an ISO can easily result in a corrupt file
I'm not claiming that this is the best md5checker

And note it's the md5sum of the entire ISO you compare with the sum on the download page
