Burned the cd....What next.

Postby DSKid on Fri Feb 22, 2008 1:17 pm

I put the cd I burned into the drive and closed it.

I hit on my pc. Start > restart.

The computer restarts and boots from the disc I guess. There is a linux mint logo with a loading bar the goes back and fourth. Then it stops. And nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?????? :?: :?:

When the LinuxMint screen comes up to prompt you what to do, hit F6.

Change:
splash

To:
nosplash

At the end of the line. Watch for errors.

Oh Ok, I see what you mean. Pressed f6 and put nosplash like you said and got this error...

Seems like you might not be the only one --> http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-669923.html

It looks like that error is I/O related with the Linux kernel itself. My first guess is the CD. Try burning another cd at a slower burn speed. There might be errors on it.

Two things to check...

1) When you downloaded did you check the checksum to make sure the download was good.

2) If the download was good, retry burning another CD but you may want to use a different burning program and different media to burn to as either can cause problems.

Checksum was fine.

Used verbatim cds with both Nero and DVD Decrypter.
