problems booting - gfxpayload

Postby JeansenVaars on Sat Mar 17, 2012 9:31 pm

Hi all ! This is my first time in Home-Linux (I've started using linux in my job and once I got used to it, I had a difficult time enjoying windows, so I installed it on my desktop).

I had to comment this line:
Code: Select all
set gfxpayload=$linux_gfx_mode
in order to make my Mint boot up. I was getting a blank screen, like if gnome didn't start.

What is this line and what does it do? is it safe to have it commented?

Thanks!
JV

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
