Tomboy synchronizing with Ubuntu One in Mint 7

Hey Linux Mint! I'm trying to sync Tomboy Notes from my desktop (linux mint 7 Gloria) to tomboy on my laptop (ubuntu 9.10) via Ubuntu One.

All went well with Ubuntu One install on both, and I can synch Tomboy 1.0.0 from my laptop with the website.
I've gotten Tomboy 1.0.0 (jaunty PPA) installed successfully on my desktop as well, but I can't connect to the server (https://one.ubuntu.com/notes) with the Tomboy Web Synchronization tool. I get the following error:

I'd like to try the karmic PPA instead of jaunty as it's newer and recommended, but I can't install the karmic tomboy PPA for 1.0.0 due to this problem:

I see the smiley - there are files in your system that identifies it as Mint
