[SOLVED] Mozilla Firefox : Small Hangups, Weird Google

Postby Tafhim on Thu Apr 19, 2012 8:59 am

I'm a new Mint user. Using 12 GNOME version.
This problem has been irritating me for a long time. The Firefox installation frequently freezes and releases. Sites that have more Javascript seem to hang it up a lot. Since Facebook causes the most frequent freezes. I don't have any problem when using Google Chrome. I used to have a problem with the GNOME hang up but I fixed it by installing the patches posted in Launchpad. But this problem was here before I encountered the GNOME hangup. So I think these two things are disconnected. And some Google links also don't show up Blue, here's a screenshot.

Any ideas

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

What happens if you restart FF with add-ons disabled - in the Help menu?

Disabled all addons and restarted FF. The problem persists. It's usually with pages with scripts. Like when GMAIL is loading or when I click Facebook notifications. And the Google links not being Blue problem still exists.

Ok, as a test close any open FF and try creating a new FF profile - in a terminal or Alt+F2 run box, enter firefox -profilemanager
