Libre Office giving error msg. on startup

Postby clair on Fri May 04, 2012 7:41 am

I would have posted this under the other "LO won't start" but it was marked as solved. So here is my problem:

When I try to run Libre Office or Libre Office Writer this is what I get:

Code: Select all
The application cannot be started. Failed to update file:///home/clair/.config/.libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/lastsynchronized

The background:
Mint 12 was running fine for most of my needs, including the much used Libre Office writer, but for work I needed a screen recorder -- none would work (recordmydesktop and xvidcap) so I jumped onto the new Debian-Mint release. Well, that one wouldn't let me print (same problem I had with Debian 6.04). So I reinstalled my Mint 12 to at least have a printer again.

Now, I have the above problem with the Libre Office Suite. Help appreciated.

I tried all the recommendations in the other post:

http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=96573&p=552545&hilit=Libre+Office#p552545

But no change.

Thanks!
