What's with all the 'edgy' references in /etc/apt/sources.list.orig ?

did you add the Edgy repos? I can't think of any other reason they would be there. look at the lines that are giving you errors. try commenting them out and then try to update again. it looks like its the Feisty repos giving you the issues. All I can think of is to either, comment them out and try gain, or try to go to those site directly and see if they are there. Also make sure the entries are correct in the sources.list file, sometimes if you don't have a "/" in the proper place it will give issues.

Nope, I didn't added the edgy repos. I believe they were included with the initial install(23AUG2007) from CD??

Even though I could resolve/browse http://www.linuxmint.com,
http://www.linuxmint.com/fourm/, and http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/ the repos weren't responding.
it seems to simply have been the linux mint repos were not available, perhaps they were temporarily off line?
