Website Video Playing Skips - Complete - in record time

Postby tdrane on Sun May 06, 2012 1:07 pm

I have looked, and cannot find a reason or a fix. using Mint 12 KDE, all updated and current. In both FF and Chrome, again,
all updated and current, when I go to the Reuters website, and try to watch one of the videos, it will start to load and play, then
flip right into the next video, and continue this, never actually playing any one of them.

The only other website that I have any issues with is baynews9-dot-com, none of the videos play.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be of gerrrrr-AT! apperciation.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I'm using Linux Mint 11, Gnome, Firefox 12. Assuming the websites with problems are http://www.reuters.com/ and http://baynews9.com/. The videos I found at the reuters website all came from Youtube and played fine till the end (for example, the following plays fine: http://www.reuters.com/video/2012/05/06 ... nel=117851). baynews9's website doesn't play videos, the flash object just stays black (for example, here: http://baynews9.com/content/news/baynews9/video.html).

If you don't have any problems with other websites, I'd say, at least for baynews9, this is a problem specific to this website. For reuters, you may just want to watch from their Youtube channel? https://www.youtube.com/user/ReutersTV

Perfect. Concise. Thanks for the response. I'm marking this as done.

Safe days.
