Remastersys Survey

Postby animaguy on Fri May 11, 2012 12:11 pm

Does anyone have experience with the program Remastersys?

And if so can it produce an iso that can be burnt to a usb flash drive?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Yes and yes.
Remastersys is a great GUI program for making a full backup of your Mint or Ubuntu (Debian based distros), so long as the resulting ISO doesn't go above 4GB.
You can then burn the ISO to a DVD or a flashdrive and even make it persistent!

This is my main form of system backup. Take out what you dont want and add what you do then create an iso of the system minus your data.

Thank you for your responses.

I am going to start learning to install and use Remastersys.

QUESTION:

I have read about it this software and my understanding is that you can customize an existing distro and then burn a backup to an iso and then burn the iso to a bootable cd, dvd or usb flash drive?

Is that true?
