More Update Manager Errors

Postby realitykid on Tue May 22, 2012 3:30 pm

Update Manager continues to give me problems in Mint 13 for some reason. Here is what it's doing now. Everytime I load it up, it complains about the following:

Code: Select all
Failed to fetch http://packages.medibuntu.org/dists/precise/Release.gpg  Something wicked happened resolving 'packages.medibuntu.org:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname)

Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks remoulder, but this isn't the RC version that I am talking about. This is the stable release found at http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/linuxmint.com/stable/13/

I'll still post my problem in the comments on the blog post, but if you have any other suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

AFAIK there hasn't been any official announcement of a release so you should assume this is still an RC despite the folder name.

What I did was uninstall and reinstall the update manager using Synaptic. I did it twice, actually, 32-bit and 64-bit. It solved the problem both times, so it might be worth a try for you.

Funny thing is that I have no problem updating from the command line.
