Error-Nepomuk backup service not running. Mint 13 cinnamon

Hello everyone
I've recently switched to a new (old but newly aquired) computer, and installed LinuxMint13 64bit with cinnamon. I love the look of cinnamon and used it briefly with Mint12, but of course there are some problems in getting familiar with it. I wanted to use the Nepomuk backup service, since I'm sure I'm eventually going to damage myOS in some way, but every time I try to run Nepomuk backup I get an error message telling me the service isnt running. How can I start and configure the Nepomuk backup service? How can I view and manage other services in my LinuxMint13?

Nepomuk is a KDE backup tool. You probably got it when you installed a KDE program like K3B
If you have the disire to create backups use Backup Tool or even better make a rsync script!

But why does installing K3B bring half a broken desktop search on my system?
Also, according to synaptic, k3b does not depend on the nepomuk packages.
How does one get rid of them?

I don't know why Nepomuk get's installed, but there is certainly a dependency (eg libk3b6, libk3b6-extracodecs). If you try to remove Nepomuk with Synaptic Package Manager you'll see that k3b will be removed.

I am running Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon 64bit.

I also have noticed that nepomuk gets installed with K3B but it does work. All you have to do is goto Menu > System Tools > Nepomuk File Indexing. This will start the Nepomuk Desktop Seach program in your notifications part of the panel, and if you select the menu from the nepomuk icon that appears there you goto Configure File Indexing. From the configuration window goto Backup and change Backup Frequency from Disable Automatic Backups to your prefered choice. Save the changes and open up the Nepomuk Backup Service and viola it is working.

This worked for me.
