Fellow Linux Mint compatriots:
This is a bit of a specific issue but the solution may be more generally related to OpenGL. I've recently installed Gywddion (a GNU image rendering and analysis program) and for the most part it runs properly, however, if I want to do 3D graphics rendering it throws the following error:
"OpenGL 3D graphics not available
Initialization of OpenGL failed.
Check output of glxinfo and warning messages
printed to console during Gwyddion startup."
The command line output from Gwyddion startup is:
$ sys:1: GtkWarning: Theme directory scalable/animations/small/16x16 of theme Mint-KDE has no size field
$ sys:1: GtkWarning: Theme directory scalable/animations/small/22x22 of theme Mint-KDE has no size field
I've ran glxinfo but don't know exactly what to look for, so as opposed to dumping a hundred lines of output into this post, if anyone knows what information I need from that output, please let me know.
I've checked out some other threads on OpenGL 3D
(viewtopic.php?f=141&t=56613), but wasn't sure how related this may be to the present case.
My graphics info is below:
$ inxi -Gx
Graphics: Card: Intel 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller bus-ID: 00:02.0
X.Org 1.10.4 drivers intel unloaded: fbdev,vesa Resolution 1280x1024@60.0hz
GLX Renderer Mesa DRI Intel 945G x86/MMX/SSE2 GLX Version 1.4 Mesa 7.11 Direct Rendering Yes
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks,
-Boltzmann
