Has anyone gotten Vuescan to work?

Postby manchild on Wed Feb 14, 2007 9:38 pm

Does anyone have an idea of how to get Vuescan to find the scanner. I have an HP5370C scanner that worked fine with Ubuntu Dapper (I think dapper used udev). I can't get Vuescan to find my scanner with either Ubuntu Edgy or Linux Mint Bianca. Has anyone encountered this problem? Running the command "lsusb" generates the following output.

boys@odBox:~$ lsusb
Bus 005 Device 003: ID 059f:0351 LaCie, Ltd
Bus 005 Device 008: ID 0781:5150 SanDisk Corp. SDCZ2 Cruzer Mini Flash Drive (thin)
Bus 005 Device 005: ID 050d:0218 Belkin Components
Bus 005 Device 006: ID 3923:709b National Instruments Corp.
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 03f0:0701 Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 5300c/5370c
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 046d:c016 Logitech, Inc. M-UV69a Optical Wheel Mouse
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 046d:c50b Logitech, Inc. Cordless Desktop Optical
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

So it looks as though my system is recognizing the scanner but none of the scanning software picks it up.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
