installing K9copy

Postby Cheers on Fri Feb 16, 2007 6:38 pm

Hi,

It seems I do not have any luck in installing K9Copy. It should be in the standard repository but it is not installing the right way. Can someone help me with this. Is there a repository to add which does the job. I already looked on the Internet but noting works. I am using LinuxMint versio Bianca.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I did use Synaptic. K9copy is now in the menu but no picture in front of it only a cross. Neighter does it work. Is there a way to add another repository and install it from the comment line? Or is there another way.

If I were you I would install Acidrip and dvdrip and see what happens, usually they will install a lot of library's if you are lucky it will work, try this easy solution first,
one more question do you have your system updated?, if not do that first.

Hi I forgot to tell i am a newbie to linuxmint and Linux in general. Lot of experience with Windows but not Linux. I first try acidrip and dvdrip then K9copy. How can I add those sites to my sources.list file any way. tried it before with other sites but had no luck in doing so.

again thank you for the help.

Peter

Hi,

Yes that is exactly what I used to install K9copy but that did not work well. I also used it to install Acidrip and Dvdrip and they work fine. But these programs are more for ripping a DVD (the names says it) to any other format like Xvid. I am looking more for a program to copy the whole DVD (including menus and subtitles). So I can make a backup of some of my often used DVD's. Also commercial DVD with protection. I heard K9copy would do the job. But somehow if I install it via Synaptic it does not install it the right way. I will try it again since I now have installed the latest updates such as you told me. It Where 106 updates so hope it will improve my system ;-)

regards,
Peter

Hi frank and Bernado,

I like to thank you both. Igot more where I asked for. I now alsohave tools te rip a DVD (acidrip) and a tool to copy DVD's K9copy. I found out how to add the source from Bernado to my sources.list and installed it from there. This one works fine. I am allready testing the tool very happy with the results.

Resource for adding the Source. http://www.czessi.org/en/apt

Tread can be closed...

All the best,
