Because python2.7 is needed, it seems best to catch that dependency before installing DDM.lizbeth wrote:Ok, so the 2.4 version won't install on debian squeeze because of the dependency issue with python 2.7. That's what you wanted? No problem. On to frankenstein.

apt-listbugs problem:
In every install command y use the --force-yes option: apt-get -y --force-yes install packagename
In the apt-listbugs manual this would mean that it assumes you select 'yes' for all questions.
So why is it still interrupting the install?
Does the process continue after you purge apt-listbugs?
[EDIT]
After I installed apt-listbugs on my 64-bit system I ran:And after that I installed my Nvidia drivers with DDM...without any problem...I don't get it...Code: Select all

That explains it!zerozero wrote:anyway to me this a marginal issue because hardly ddm would be used in debian sid proper.
But at least I can show a warning message when DDM sees apt-listbugs is installed.zerozero wrote:1- it's not part of the default installation so won't be a major issue (at least not one that we have to deal generally)
I really hate those bugs...solving those always consumes an enormous amount of time.zerozero wrote:2- the blocking behaviour looks kinda random (like all the good bugs )
of course understanding this would be a plus.
Valid points... Actually I (and I assume) many others tracking SID use SMXI to install later version drivers/and perhaps Liquorix kernels. If your going to be more 'bleeding edge' might as well go all in..zerozero wrote: [...]anyway to me this a marginal issue because hardly ddm would be used in debian sid proper.
regarding apt-listbugs, 2 thoughts:
1- it's not part of the default installation so won't be a major issue (at least not one that we have to deal generally)
2- the blocking behaviour looks kinda random (like all the good bugs )

Yes, you are!GeneC wrote:Perhaps we are not the best ones to be testing DDM?
hi Gene as Schoelje said we should push the limits of the app it's with stress tests that we can find the unseen errorsGeneC wrote:Perhaps we are not the best ones to be testing DDM?
In your case, only Arch seems to be able to support your graphics card, so no, you don't need to continue testing DDM.xircon wrote:Is there any point in me continuing with this?
