The Settler 2 Gold - No Midi-Sound

Postby nobdy on Mon Apr 14, 2008 1:12 pm

Hello, I installed DosEmu today and tried to run my old game The Settler 2 Gold Edition. The FX sound worked right out of the box, but the midi sound(background music) doesn't. I set the midi driver for settler 2 using it's setup.exe to
Code: Select all
MIDI music: General MIDI (Roland MPU 401 interface or 100% compatible)

Any ideas what to do?

Thanks for this link.
It refers to this page:

http://www.slitesys.demon.co.uk/a.macdo ... emu/sound/

MPU-401 Emulation

The MPU-401 emulation is currently provided using a separate daemon called 'midid' (supplied). This has some support for OSS Lite, the Ultra driver and a null driver. Of these the Ultra driver has the most complete support.

That's what I've set the midi driver to. But it remains silent :(

Well - I fear that the support is not there then - but this is way out of my league
