Picasa

I would appreciate it very much if someone could advise me ,if its possible to transfer all of the Picasa files ,so that they can be used again ,when I upgrade to Mint 12 or 13.
The reason ,I believe is that Google is not supporting Picasa in Linux , any more.
Is there a comparable foto package that works as good as Picasa. ? I use it to e-mail fotos download them for various things.
Where would the Picasa files reside.Thanking you,

The Windows version of Picasa works fine with Wine.
