32 bit oracle java plugin on a 64 bit system

i am running 64 bit linux mint 13, but need the 32 bit oracle java plugin for firefox to connect to my companies vpn. is this possible with mint?

i have another 64 bit linux install (gentoo) where i have this working great, i run firefox using linux32, it then loads the 32 bit plugin (which is installed as well). after a lot of google searching, i haven't been able to find a way to accomplish this with mint.

any help is appreciated!
