In mozilla when i open up Edit/Preferences all the words are just a skosch above the background. I can't get it to where I can read it. I've tried changing the font color and what not but nothing seems to work. I came from a IE environment and it's totally different. I apologize. Any ideas?

Maybe post a screenshot of what you mean. Prt Scrn button or Alt + Prt Scrn for focused window, to take the shot. Rightclick it in nautilus and choose upload, then post here.
