Mintbackup wants to restore all my files to /root (Solved)

Postby jmcook79 on Tue Nov 20, 2012 8:18 pm

I chose to do a directory (non-archive) backup to an ext4 formatted external drive. When I try and restore my files after installing Mint 14, I select the external drive as the source and /home/mike as the destination. However when i click next it always lists the destination as /root and it has next to information (not created with the backup tool) Any idea what is wrong?

Thanks

I was actually double clicking my home directory "Mike" instead of simply selecting it. I guess this confused mintbackup somehow...when I just selected it then it worked fine. Now all my files are owned by root which i just discovered was a bug so I need to fix that.
