I have 2 laptops.
On the one running Mint 12 with kernel 3.0.0-12-generic, Update Manager works OK.

On the other machine, running Mint 13 with kernet 3.6.6-030606-generic, the Update Manager icon remains a green tick, but
when I clicked on it last night, it gave me 41 updates.

Is this something to do with the different kernels, and more importantly, is it something I should be concerned about?

if i remember right there was a bug in 13's update manager. But when you did the update it should have update the update manager also you may find it now works.

Then I found other threads in the mint Update section, (where I should have looked before posting).
Seems as though it's as it should be - I won't add comment as it's all been said elsewhere.

Seems to have worked OK today - time will tell

Hi,
I use Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon and Update Notification doesn't work. Always "System Updated" but it's not true. Can anyone confirm? Do you need to wait 15 minutes ( in the Preferences ) for the first check after Login?
In my opinion this is a serious problem and it should be corrected asap.
