A very explicative article about Asunder
http://littlesvr.ca/asunder/
(home)
Asunder is a nice software for Gnome. Version 1.0.1 i386.deb
You also can download the source and compile it.
firefox> open > gdeb - it installs automatically on your hard disk - menu sound and multimidia
Asunder extract - rip directly from CD (CDDA) to Wav, Flac (without lossless), Ogg Vorbis
(any quality) and MP3 (any quality) from low to the highest bitrate. With or without M3U.
See Preferences - if rip to mp3 disable Wave (duplicate) - same to OGG-Vorbis
See encoder to set your preference
It requires lame installed to work (Install from synaptic)
AAC format (NO). Ipods also plays MP3 - do it with with Sound Juicer
You can even disable Sound Juicer as default when you insert Cd in the drive (optional)
Soundjuicer limit MP3 encoding to 128 Kbps only.
CDDB included and the program has a nice GUI and ease to use.
Here in my Mint's Gnome Daryna 4.0, no problem. It fitted good
Another reference is an add-on to Firefox - Video Downloadhelper . Download videos from
several sites in .flv only but it works terrible.
Hugs
