Totem not starting

Postby Sakonim on Mon Apr 28, 2008 6:24 am

I've noticed that Totem just refuses to start recently. I normally use vlc for videos and I never had much luck with totem since my ubuntu days so it didn't really catch my attention. This is the error message I get if I try to run it from the terminal:

Code: Select all
(totem:7703): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "pixmap",
The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 42 error_code 8 request_code 140 minor_code 14)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I don't have a clue what is going on there. I've tried googling the problem without much results.
