Installing latest wine on linuxmint 14. How should I?

Hello!

I would like to install latest wine on my recently installed linuxmint mate 14. Mi goal is to be able to run Photoshop cs5 among others programs I need.

If possible, let me know all the steps I should follow to install wine and then install photoshop. I've tried following a tutorial but the only thing I've got is winetricks. I then installed photoshop but it doesn't start.

These were the steps I followed yesterday with no results:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine1.5
sudo apt-get install winetricks

Thanks in advance for your valuable help.

The latest Wine version in Synaptic is version 1.3 which has been tested to integrate with LinuxMint without causing any hiccups.
The latest stable release is version 1.4.1.
Version 1.5 is a development release.

Photoshop CS5 is reported as working poorly in Wine in Linux:

Try CS4 which is known to work perfectly.

Thanks for your answer but it didn't work either. When trying to launch Photoshop CS4, it stops working.

I am surely making a mistake when installing wine or I need to configure something I didn't realized.

Thanks again,

Click on the Tips and Tricks tab to find out how that contributor got it to run.

If you need help figuring out how to get a package to work with Wine I would suggest http://appdb.winehq.org/ just use the search bar to find photoshop cs4 or cs5 and you should get all the information you need.
