Plugin Error

Postby Colin on Wed Apr 30, 2008 11:29 pm

I have only just installed Linux Mint and all the required updates (171). But when i was listening to an online radio station a pop-up appeared stating:
Plugin Error
Unable to activate plugin Media Player keys

Could someone tell me what this about and if it is cause for concern please. Thanks

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

What application were you using to listen to online radio? You may need to make some changes to your audio preferences.

Hello there!
I was listening to an online radio music program when the pop up appeared. Apparently Movie Player is the default player?

I see. I recommend using something along the lines of XMMS (very similar to winamp), or you can even install Realplayer. These are both freely available for download and auto install from the software portal on the Linux Mint website. Give them a shot, rather than using that silly movie player. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply and advice lakehousetech. I will definately try out one if not both XMMS and Realplayer and see which one i prefer. Thanks once again.
