Problems Installing Steam on Mint 14 KDE

I am getting the following error (and there's nothing wrong with my internet connection):

Anyone know what I can do?

Well, I got a little further. It said it installed but when I go to run it, the steam cursor bounces around for a little bit and then it just dies so Steam never comes up. Anyone have this problem?
