I suspect this is an ATI driver issue, but I've never seen it before.
Mint 14 with Mate WM, using the ATI propriatairy drivers, opera is visually corrupted constantly.
No other symptoms in any other program, 2d or 3d.
I have googled off and on and found one mention of it, and the solutions didn't work.
Anything else short of giving up the ATI drivers?

As a note for anyone searching later, I had the same problem on a kde install and apt installed mate, same problem. Opera does not like fglrx on mint 14 with my hardware.
