Moneyplex seems to be a very specific program
I googled it and the third link from the top included Moneyplex crack - this makes me feel that I would not want to do my banking business with Moneyplex...

Well ... with Moneyplex it's possible to do a lot of things, it's very mighty.

I've used it under Windows for 2 years and feel happy with this program, but if you can rate my another good one for Mint, i would give it a try.

I've tried GNU_Cash / Hibiscus ... very ugly skin in GNU_Cash und Hibiscus didn't work with my bank (with windows and i think it's the same with linux) ... any other?

KMyMoney is a very good financial program. It can be used with GNOME or KDE desktops. I have tried GNUcash and HomeBank, but KMyMoney is still a keeper for me. All I need is a basic check book/credit card register/ledger. It may be worth you testing out. Good luck.

I looked at the KMyMoney homepage, but I didn't find a word about the Kobil-CardReader and HBCI Onlinebanking ...

Another suggestion would be to use: http://www.aquamaniac.de/sites/libchipcard/index.php which will detect some USB-CardReader, but I don''t know if this is really the problem ... because the cardreader in hardware looks good to me or doesn't it?

Hi again ... because onlinebanking is very important for me, I have to solve this problem asap (as soon as possible).

I guess Moneyplex working fine, Kobil is detected correct in Hardware, but I haven't enough right's to handle the USB-connection to the chipcard-reader ... could this be a reason / solution?

---
had a view on KMyMoney and truly prefer Moneyplex :|

/perhaps moving to hardware discussion?

OK I guess i would set full access to this USB device ... rwx ... but how and where?

Code: Select all

rhvkl@silentmaxx:~$ sudo chmod a+rw /dev/ttyUSB?
chmod: cannot access `/dev/ttyUSB?': No such file or directory

Hi rhvkl,
some suggestions:
do # dmesg |grep KOBIL
something like ttyUSB0 should appear - aside other lines.

My ~/.CT_devices looks like this:
GetPortType=#0
SetPortType=#0
DefaultPortType=#0
DefaultProtocollType=#0
UseOnlyDefaultProtocoll=#0
B1DTRLow=#50
B1DSRRespActive=#2000
PnPChar=#150
B1WaitForPnPString=#1500
KaanWaitForPnPString=#600
Port1=COM;/dev/ttyUSB0;2;0;serial reader at /dev/ttyUSB0: Kaan/SecOVID/TWIN

Port4=COM;/dev/ttyS3;1;0;serial reader at /dev/ttyS3: B1/Kaan Pro
UseOldStyleManufacturerDataObject=#0

and /etc/reader.conf like this (I have 2 Card Readers attached currently):

# Configuration file for IFD Handler 2.0 drivers
# FRIENDLYNAME: Any name
# DEVICENAME: Any name
# LIBPATH: Location of the driver library for your reader

FRIENDLYNAME "Kobil Card Terminal"
DEVICENAME /dev/ttyS1:KOBIL_CARD_TERMINAL
LIBPATH /usr/lib/kobil/libct_kobil.so
CHANNELID 0x000002

# Note: Use the full path on LIBPATH.

Try to use the driver delivered with moneyplex (~/moneyplex/ctapi/libct_kobil.so).
If that failes download the driver from KOBIL web site -> DOWNLOAD -> Treiber: ct-linux.zip

contact me via PM if you need further assistance (n0bert0@aim.com)

Hi "Gast", PM doesn't work did it? =)
... I've done the control tasks, but I'm still clueless, what I've to change without killing my OS at once.

Step by step is something like this?
1) finding ttyUSB, right?
2) manual edit of the reader.conf expecially for config the kobil.so path
3) .CT_devices <-- no idea what to do with, sorry.

please upgrade to kernel >2.6.24 - that should work
I do not run a 2.6.22 kernel, never tried the kobil USB card reader with it. As far as I googled you need to patch the kernel to fix the problem with 2.6.22 kernel and KOBIL USB card reader.

PM with the given email address should work if you copy/paste the address...(0=zero, NOT O)

cheers

Re: Matrica Moneyplex2008 & Kobil EMV Cap Reader III [solved]

I searched a long time for the solution, but it's quite simple install the daemon from the kobil.de site, update a lib*6 package, relink the driver from the homepage in the moneyplex dir ...
that's it.

Thanks for all your help!!!! --> solved
