Tethering not working

Hello everyone,
I recently installed mint 14 on a dell XPS. Everything works nicely however I have been unable to usb thether with my phone.
In ubuntu, once I selected usb tether on my android phone, it automatically connected with NM to the net.
On mint nothing happens.
I have tried different options but it simply doesnt work...
Wifi tethering works..
Any idea?
