X-Plane 10 installaton on Mint Cin 14

Hi all, has anyone tried to install xplane 10 on mint 14? I had it on mint 13 and it worked fine. I haven't come across any threads on this topic both here and at the xplane site. I have tried the suggestions for older systems but they have had no positive effect. The installer (downloaded from xplane) will not even start at this time. I started with a Radeon hd 7870 with latest drivers installed. I thought that might have been an issue so I swapped cards back to the GTX260 which is what I was using in mint 13. I haven't had any problems installing/uninstalling drivers, everything is go in that regards thanks to the help on the forums here. (lessons learned from the past .
Any advice or tips would be much appreaciated.

System is;
i7 8core 3.5GH (stock clocking)
GTX260 vid, and I have installed the nvidia drivers
8GB ram
all sata connections for drives.

Hello, still on my quest here.
Does anyone know if the launch.hta file is the actual program launcher for xplane. When I try to launch it, it tells me in a text file that my system is not recognizing the hta file. How would I check to see if that is true, and how would I be able to correct that?

I am having the same problem, but I'm trying to run the demo. When I click on the installer, nothing happens! This is frustrating because I really want to run x plane 10 on mint.
