Errors when using Update/Install - Cannot connect

Hello,
I installed Linux Mint (14 Nadia) (64-bit) two weeks ago and have not been able to update/install any software since then. I have looked at the forums/web and have come across similar issues, but have yet to find a solution that works.

I have full internet connectivity – proxys are set up and working (ie Firefox, ssh etc)

Info on version, inxi -r and output from various attempts (softwware manager, software sources and sudo apt-get) are included below.

I switched to a number of different servers manually (both geographically close and on a night time zone) to check if it was a server issue.

Update Manager fails with the following error:

Synaptic Package Manager also produces errors.

Sudo apt-get fails (irrespective of package)
$ sudo apt-get install x11vnc
