Netflix Install Issues

Hello All,

I am a brand new linux user so I apologize in advance for my newb questions. Got tired of Windows 8 and just wanted to do something new - so tried it out. So far lovin it and learning a lot.

Anyways the issue -- I followed the instructions to install Netflix Desktop as instructed here:

http://lifehacker.com/5963726/netflix-f ... esktop-app

And I keep getting error messages after following the second command. Specifically, at the end of the update/install cycle I get a prompt for "The following new packages will be installed:" (lots of line items here) then, it asks if I want to continue. When I prompt yes, I get the following errors (sorry for the lengthy string, but all of them look like errors):

debconf: DbDriver "config": /var/cache/debconf/config.dat is locked by another process: Resource temporarily unavailable
(Reading database ... 126535 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking ttf-mscorefonts-installer (from .../ttf-mscorefonts-installer_3.4ubuntu3_all.deb) ...

subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1

Unpacking netflix-desktop (from .../netflix-desktop_0.6.1~quantal_all.deb) ...
debconf: DbDriver "config": /var/cache/debconf/config.dat is locked by another process: Resource temporarily unavailable
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/netflix-desktop_0.6.1~quantal_all.deb (--unpack):

Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/ttf-mscorefonts-installer_3.4ubuntu3_all.deb

/var/cache/apt/archives/netflix-desktop_0.6.1~quantal_all.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I've searched quite a bit and tried some commands including removing and reinstalling dpkg, killing processes etc, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions??

Oh and I'm running Linux Mint 14 KDE -- not sure how much that matters, sorry complete newb!

Thanks in advance,

Ron

Anyone? Can't believe I'm the only one with the issue --- or that the issue is unresolved....

Fresh install of KDE btw, no changes to it. Just Netflix and that's it.

I've managed for Netflix to work in LM 13 and 14 in both Cinnamon and Xfce flavors. Ive also installed the Netflix desktop in Bodhi Linux and CrunchBang, but so far I can't get it to work in LMDE Cinnamon, even though I used a slightly modified cli than the method in the method in CrunchBang by changing a reference to geany to gedit (see:http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=281492).

Does anyone have a fix for LMDE? :?:
