How to increase the speed of mobile broadband connection?

I have purchased a 3G mobile broadband dongle and the area where I live is not 3G-covered, but I still can get an EDGE connection but my connection speed is drastically low and frustrating. Is there a way to boost it a little bit? :roll: :roll:
