Update Manager autostart

Been using Mint 13 KDE on my netbook for a bit now. It's pretty dang nice. Nicer than kubuntu, frankly. It's the best mint version I've tried, and I tried every one except cinnamon. If I wanted a gnome 3/compiz based system I would have stayed with ubuntu.

One thing, though. Mint Update Manager autostarts at boot. I'm good at remembering to check for updates, and I don't want it to autostart. If there's some setting anywhere to prevent this I can't find it.

Any suggestion? It's probably hiding in plaiin sight  .

Autostart applications from the GNOME based environment are configured in /etc/xdg/autostart. You can disable autostart of mintUpdate with the following command:

Code: Select all

sudo mv /etc/xdg/autostart/mintupdate.desktop /etc/xdg/autostart/mintupdate.desktop-disabled
