Slow download speeds with wget

When downloading using wget from terminal my speed is perfectly fine most of the time. But when downloading flash videos from certain sites the speed comes to a crawl. I originally thought that it might be the site, but when downloaded on another computer the speed is much faster. I currently triple boot on one machine with Windows 7 - Ubuntu 12.10 - Mint 14. On this machine I experience this issue on both linux distros. But I also dual boot on my Chromebook with Chrubuntu, which I believe is basically Ubuntu 12.04 and I max out my speed there when using wget downloading from the exact same sites. Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
