MintMenu "Edit Menus" command does nothing

I'm running Mint 14 with Mate.
When I right-click on the mintMenu and select "Edit Menus," nothing happens. I'm expecting (I think) some sort of UI to edit the contents of the main menu, but simply nothing happens.

I don't know where to start, and I haven't found any similar reports. Any ideas?
