LibreOffice BASE slow

Greetings,
Sorry to have to ask, but I'm struggling with the BASE portion of LibreOffice running very slow. I believe this has something to do with the Java Runtime Environment, and that an older version is needed. However, I do not know what to do to get that.

Can anyone guide me to a solution? I have already increased the memory in the LibreOffice options, and I see where the JRE is selected, but I only see the Oracle 1.7.0_15 is available.
