I've used Ubuntu for the past year or so, but my boss has asked me to look into Mint as an alternative to the somewhat heavy and unwieldy Unity interface (we've been using the MATE GUI, but it creates problems when it fights with Unity).
So far Mint has been nice, but one problem I have come across is that I can't figure out how to use FreeNX with Nomachine. Specifically, I am trying to remotely view the desktop of a Mint machine from a Ubuntu machine, but none of the selectable desktop environments (GNOME, KDE, XDM, etc.) seem to work, even after tinkering with the node.conf options.
Does anyone have any advice on how to get this to work?
