Thunderbird language Switching

Hi All,

I have converted to Linux Mint only a few months ago but all I know is it is the GREATEST distro I have ever used. I must say I am having some trouble configuring my wifes user profile so that when she opens Thunderbird she can type in russian. My profile is english and all is working fine. However I have installed all the russina language packs for Mint and also the english ones. Thunerbird opens in russian on my wifes profile however she is unable to send any letters that are typed because they are not displayed in russian but in english.

I need some help and would apreciate any assistance that is offered, thanks
