Firefox problem in LM5 solved

Postby NBSVieiraPT on Thu Jun 12, 2008 6:23 pm

Good evening!

Even though it's already Friday 13th in some of your locations trust me when I say this isn't bad luck of evil seed's.

I installed Linux Mint 5.0 Gnome and all my programs and all that jazz but firefox refuses to work properly. I used the beta which comes with the distro but it was too slow, so I downgraded to 2.0.0.14. All fine, except that it takes ages to load and to close (always freezing when doing so) and constantly freezes my computer.
Searched for an answer and couldn't find one... Already tried to delete all files and plugins both from 3.0 and 2.0 and nothing. It still freezes... and weird thing is, that "inside" firefox, browsing is very fast and smooth.

Any ideas?

Does FF2 use the same profile as FF3?

Nope mate. I thought in that too.
I forgot to update this thread but firefox is now running smooth. Don't really know what happened, maybe it was some plugin which was farking everything up or whatever, it is fixed now. Thanks Husse
