Crazy screensaver

I was watching a video on Mint 15 Mate and while the video was active the screensaver came on. Why? The app I was using was Totem video player. This is not good how do I fix it?
You can prevent this behavior by using [url=http://linuxg.net/install-caffeine-in-ubuntu-12-04-and-ubuntu-12-10/]caffeine[/url].
After installing caffeine, open the application, hit "Add", then name the application for which you don't want the screensaver to run.
I know installing a third-party application for this functionality isn't ideal, but it's the best solution I've found :/
