Mounting Issue

Postby TheFullEffect on Wed Feb 28, 2007 11:13 pm

Hello everyone, I was curious if somoneone could help me or maybe give me the best solution for this problem.

I really love the mounting features Bianca has. However, Bianca always spots this little itty bitty partition on my hard drive for some Dell startup crap which came loaded onto my drive. I'm not going to mess with it, but everytime Bianca starts up it recognizes that little part and sticks it on my desktop.

Is there a way I can just not have that partition be recognized? Another words, is there a setting I can go to to say "allow everything else to appear and to mount but don't bother mounting this one?"

If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Yes, just insert the name of this partition as a comment in /etc/fstab.

For instance, let's say it's /dev/hda2, insert the following line in /etc/fstab:

#/dev/hda2

This will trick mintDisk in thinking that /dev/hda2 is taken care of by fstab and so it will ignore it.
