mintMenu Does Not Display Properly After Updates

Postby nobles on Tue Jun 24, 2008 6:26 pm

I applied updates that mintUpdate found yesterday and then rebooted this morning to find that my mintMenu no longer works properly. I only get Package manager, Control Centre, Terminal and Quit displayed on the mintmenu - the rest of the menu has various lines that reference /var/lib/python-support... as shown below. The Main Gnome menu still works if I add it to the panel. Is there anything I can do to restore or rebuild the mintMenu?

Code: Select all
File "/var/lib/python-support/python2.5/xdg/Menu.py", line 791, in __mergeFile
    __parse(child,filename,parent)

 File "<string>", line 6

    elif :

         ^

SyntaxError: invalid syntax

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I should mention if I logon as root or create a new user, mintMenu will work for those users. So how do I fix it for my main user account? I can also right click and edit menu in my main account and that works - it just doesn't display the menu correctly.
