Open a terminal[Menu->Terminal]
and run thisclick on apps->mintmenuCode: Select all
gconf-editor
clear pin_menu checkbox
Although i fixed it i was puzzled as to how it happened.
After reading this thread i can see that what i did was fat-finger
the mouse buttons while i was in the Mint Menu.
Glad i wasn't the only person this happened to, otherwise i would
never know what i did to fsck it up.

Thanks a lot. I just had this problem and after following these directions it fixed it right away. I had no idea what was going on haha. To anyone who does have this problem in the future. After installing gconf-editor remember to logout like someone had mentioned previously and then once you log back in everything should work again.

Even though this is an old thread the grab your mouse just happened to me.
